My development as a painter began 30 years ago at the Philadelphia College of Art and Design. My formal art education continued at Syracuse University, centering on an art school curriculum with a focus on traditional figurative imagery and exploration of a multitude of mediums. Explorations of mediums and medias included painting, film making, sculpture and photography and later, also western classical vocal instruction. Music played a significant role in my development as a painter. West African drumming, and Hindustani vocal instruction of North India greatly influenced my work. A series of paintings based on Indian Ragas was one such development. It has been written of my painting ” Ms. Dudani’s work; patterned acrylics mesmerize. Devoid of narrative and seemingly drama, the works nevertheless draw the viewer inward into a maze of helixes, interwoven angle lines and tiny bursts of light. her work embraces a unique sensibility seen thrugh her unusual and sensitive use of color and pattern.” I have exhibited in solo and group shows in New York state and Boston , Ma. where I currently reside.
