Recognizing creative enterprises as legitimate businesses ensures them access to the same tools as other small enterprises. As part of our ongoing work to connect Massachusetts creatives with business resources, we wanted to share a couple of timely opportunities:
Save the Date – Collective Works: Creative Entrepreneurship Summit on November 7, 2026 from 10am-4pm.
Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s Collective Works brings together creative entrepreneurs from every discipline across Massachusetts for one day of candid conversations about what it really takes to thrive in today’s creative economy.
Whether you’re an artist, designer, musician, freelancer, student, or founder — if your creative practice is your livelihood (or you’re building toward that), this summit is for you. Come exchange ideas with fellow creators, gain practical strategies from seasoned entrepreneurs, and connect with key support organizations at our resource fair. Tickets: $25 General Admission, $10 Student.
Registration opens September 14, 2026.
Complete Main Street America’s small business survey by September 25, 2026.
Main Street America leads an inclusive, impact-driven movement dedicated to re-energizing and strengthening older and historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts nationwide. Their bi-annual small business surveys help them track how conditions amongst business communities are shifting so they can sharpen their resources, programs, and advocacy. (See their spring survey results.)
We want creative entrepreneurs and businesses to be included in these national assessments and accounted for, not only in support of tracking the creative economy – but also so that creative businesses continue to be counted as contributors to the OVERALL economy, broadening Main Street’s responses and their view of the full business landscape.
