Wilmington Cultural Council
Our priorities reflect our commitment to making the arts accessible to everyone and creating a safe space for enrichment and creativity. We strive to:
• Promote excellence in all forms of artistic expression, from visual arts to music, theater, dance, performance art, and beyond.
• Deepen the community’s understanding of cultural and artistic traditions to improve civic life.
• Provide opportunities for residents to explore and engage with a wide variety of artistic experiences.
• Support local artists and programs that celebrate Wilmington’s rich cultural identity.
• Allocate grants and funding for seniors, schools, youth groups, and library events to ensure that art and culture remain integral parts of our community.
• Bring the community together by creating spaces where art inspires connection and shared understanding.
This year, the Wilmington Cultural Council will prioritize programs and projects that serve all members of the community, celebrate cultural diversity, and create opportunities for meaningful artistic engagement. To streamline the process, all applications must be submitted through the online system.

FY26 Local Guidelines
• Prefer applicants reside, work, own an organization or business (or have an established partnership with) in Wilmington
• Programs must take place in Wilmington and significantly benefit its residence
• The LLC will prioritize applications that demonstrate thorough planning including specific dates, times, confirmed venue, (documentation may be requested)
