The Wakefield Arts Council supports public programs that promote access, education, diversity, and excellence in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences. The Council works closely with the Massachusetts Cultural Council to provide grant money to support these efforts.

FY25 Local Priorities
The Wakefield Arts Council supports public programs that promote access, education, diversity and excellence in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. On an annual cycle, we offer grants to artists, writers, performers, instructors and educational and cultural organizations seeking to engage the diverse population, cultures and ages of the Wakefield public. Thank you to the community members who responded to our survey. Priorities for the artist grant application process are determined from those responses. The Wakefield Arts Council will give priority to:
Programs that are accessible and serve broad segments of the community of Wakefield
Programs that promote diversity with the community of Wakefield
Programs that demonstrate a tenable link to Wakefield artists, culture and history
Programs that are new and innovative
Programs that represent a variety of mediums and formats
Programs that reflect the interests of the Wakefield community as determined by the survey
FY25 Local Guidelines
Only online applications will be accepted
Applicants must adhere to the LCC programs Guidelines and Priorities
Applications that have a definitive plan, including but not limited to a confirmed budget, location, timeline, collaborators and sponsors
Grants are reimbursement-based. Applicants awarded funding will submit paperwork (electronically) according to the guidelines for reimbursement
