Application Information

FY26 Allocation

$6,800

FY26 Local Priorities

1. Grants are considered on the basis of clarity of purpose, community involvement, and financial need, with a strong focus on the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. Awards typically range from $100-$500.
2. Grants are considered if they serve to enrich and support the Norwell community and its programs. Programs taking place outside Norwell will be evaluated according to the extent that they may serve a significant or underserved portion of our town population.
3. Grants are not to be used to fund projects of a continuing nature unless content/audience varies.
4. All applications must have a confirmed supporting venue in place. The date may be flexible, but the evidence of this set venue is necessary to the grant approval process. The attachment of a letter or email of intent from the venue is acceptable.
5. Grants are accepted that support K-12 field trips to attend programs in the arts, humanities, and sciences. Transportation costs are not supported.
6. Further eligibility information is available at massculturalcouncil.org under the Local Cultural Council Program link. https://massculturalcouncil.org/communities/local-cultural-council-program/.

FY26 Local Guidelines

1. The deadline for the next filing period is October 16,2025. Applications are available online at Massculturalcouncil.org. Hard copies of grants are not accepted.
2. Once completed and signed, grant applications must be electronically submitted to the Council by 4:00 PM on the due date. Again, instructions for this can be found at massculturalcouncil.org
3. If applying for funding for more than one program, you must submit an application for each program.
4. Applications are reviewed during an open meeting, the date of which is posted at Town Hall.
5. Applicants will be notified in writing of the Council’s decision. Applicants who are denied funding will be given fifteen (15) days to apply in writing for reconsideration.
6. Grant money is dispensed on a reimbursement basis only. Upon completion of the project or program, all required forms, including a W-9, along with proof of payment must be submitted. The program contact will be sent a reimbursement form link to use for their payment request. Reimbursement generally takes 4-6 weeks.
7. Projects and payment requests need to be completed within a year of the final award notification.
8. In all published materials and announcements regarding activities supported by the NCC funds, the sponsoring group or individual must acknowledge this support with a written or verbal credit or by using the MCC logo. The credit statement is: This program is supported in part by a grant from the Norwell Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The logo is available online at www.massculturalcouncil.org/contracts/logos. This credit is required by the MCC, and failure to comply may jeopardize future funding. In addition posters for display at venues are available upon request to the Norwell LCC.
