Natick Cultural Council

The mission of the Natick Cultural Council (Council) is to promote excellence, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretative sciences to improve the quality of life for Natick residents and supports Natick-based artists and/or organizations. The Council awards grants based on the cultural needs of the community, as assessed by Council members with input from the community.

NCC funds projects related to the arts, humanities, and interpretative sciences, which are specified by the Massachusetts Cultural Council as follows:
* Arts refer to the creation of work in the crafts and performing, visual, media, folk, design, literary, digital, and inter-disciplinary arts. In addition, they also include the presentation and preservation of, and education about works in these disciplines.
* Humanities are types of learning that deal with human values and aspirations, human thought and culture, language, and creativity. Examples include, but are not limited to, history, social studies, philosophy, criticism, and literature.
* Interpretative Sciences are types of learning that deal with nature, science, and technology in ways that explain how they relate to people’s lives. Some organizations that conduct this type of activity include but are not limited to aquariums, botanical gardens, nature centers, natural history museums, planetariums, and science centers.

The projects, performances, and activities may be conducted in-person or online.

Application Information

FY26 Allocation

$14,900

FY26 Local Priorities

This upcoming year (FY26) the council will prioritize the following projects:

1. Projects that support Natick-based artists and organizations or that enrich, entertain, enlighten and/or benefit Natick residents.

2. If the project is an event or performance, preference will be given to projects that have a date, time, and venue (virtual or actual) confirmed and stated in the application with supporting documentation.

3. Applications that are complete, clear, meet the guidelines and criteria, and provide as much detail as possible, including samples or links to similar projects completed.

4. First-time applicants or past grantees that have completed their projects and submitted their reimbursements correctly and in a timely manner.

The projects, performances, and activities may be conducted in-person or online. Preference will be given to projects that are well planned and meet the council priorities.

Please indicate in your application that you are mailing materials, and include the application ID with your mailed materials. All mailed materials must be received by the statewide application deadline, October 16, 2025. Late applications and materials cannot be accepted per MCC guidelines.
