FY26 Allocation

$50,700

FY26 Local Priorities

Priority is given, in no specific order, to:
Malden-based artists, art groups, and cultural organizations
Projects that promote collaboration among multiple artists and Malden organizations, businesses, or institutions
Projects that bring arts, sciences, and humanities experiences to Malden citizens who might not otherwise have access
Projects that explore or celebrate the cultural diversity of Malden or that target specific populations such as youth, elders, or residents of a specific Malden neighborhood
Malden residents or Malden-based employees/organizations.

Grants must take place in an 18 month period–from July 1 preceding the grant deadline to December 31 of the grant period. For example, grants for the October 2025 deadline need to take place between July 2025 and December 2026.

All applications must include a written confirmation of date/time/location; if applicant is not a Malden resident, they must also include a written letter from sponsoring organization in Malden and a confirmed venue in addition to date/time/location.

FY26 Local Guidelines

Applicants must be Malden-based; you must be either a Malden resident, or the employee of a Malden organization.
If you are not based in Malden and would like to apply, your application must include a letter of support from a Malden sponsor. If your letter of support is from your Malden venue, the letter is to include the committed dates for the event at said venue.

All projects must be based in Malden and demonstrate a tangible benefit to Malden citizens in order to be considered for funding. Individual artists, artist groups, arts organizations, community organizations, and municipal agencies are all eligible to apply. Funding supports activities in the arts, humanities, or interpretive sciences.

Applicants must follow all Mass Cultural Council and Malden Cultural Council guidelines. They must fill out the application completely, including specific contact information. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The date, time and place of event must be set at the time of your application. Applicants may apply for grants for programs that take place during an 18-month window of eligibility between July 1, preceding the application deadline in October, and December 31 of the following year. This means that applicants may apply for projects that have already happened or which happen prior to the Council’s grant announcements, with the knowledge that funding is not guaranteed.

Because funds are limited, your event should be able to proceed with only partial funding from the Malden Cultural Council.

Grant funds must be used within 1 year. If the program cannot take place within that period, unused funds may revert to the Malden Cultural Council.

Grant applications must be submitted to the LCC through the online system by the deadline, October 16, 2025 at 11:59pm (ET).
