Douglas Cultural Council
The Douglas Cultural Council strives to serve all members of the community – from early childhood to senior citizen – by bringing the arts. culture, and social sciences directly to the town, so that they may experience it firsthand.
We hope that by planting the seeds of arts and culture, our town will grow in an appreciation of culture, and will help foster unity among all citizens. Of particular interest to Douglas residents, according to our interest surveys, is music – particularly live music, to be played at various venues throughout the community. We also fund historical programming, activities for children’s summer reading program at the library, and entertainment and educational programs at the adult social center. Any musicians or bands (or other performance artists) are urged to apply to our LCC. See our Council Priorities for specifics when applying.
