For the Universal Participation (UP) Initiative cohort. Join Program Officer Charles Baldwin for this virtual meet-up. Get updates from Mass Cultural Council, participate in peer sharing, and discuss the practices behind the question, “What is Access Now?”
On Tuesday September 15, our guest will be Betty Siegel, the Director of the Office of VSA and Accessibility at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This is a distinct opportunity to hear from a leader in the cultural sector championing accessibility. What does access mean in the virtual world? Where do public health policies redirect access priorities? When does accessibility at a cultural institution intersect with climate change activism? How can the practices of Universal Design contribute to anti-racism work and the call for systemic change across the sector? Please join us for a robust conversation on the state of access in our world today.
