Springfield Cultural Council

The Springfield Cultural Council is designed to serve individual(s) and/or organizations throughout Greater Springfield in arts & cultural, interpretive science, and humanities’ projects for public benefit. SCC strongly
believes in making strong investments in community. SCC aims to serve all ethnic groups, genders, etc. SCC encourages non- and for-profit organizations to apply.

FY26 Allocation

$258,500

FY26 Local Priorities

Funding will be prioritized for proposals that support under-resourced communities, including BIPOC communities, individuals with disabilities, low-income communities, and the LGBTQ+ community. 🌈 The Council will prioritize proposals from individual artists.
Proposals for projects or programs with the potential to reach large audiences will be fully or partially funded. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek collaborative partnerships to strengthen their project’s capacity. Additionally, priority will be given to applicants whose local programming is closest to the Springfield area.

FY26 Local Guidelines

Award Amount: The maximum grant award is $5,000.
Application Limit: Only two applications per applicant will be considered for submission.
Repeat Submissions: Applicants may reapply in subsequent years, but only if the proposed project or program is a new or significantly revised concept.
Funding Restrictions: Grants cannot be used for capital expenditures (e.g., equipment, building renovations).
Submission Deadline: The specific deadline for application submission is flexible, though you are encouraged to submit as early as possible.
Residency Requirement: All applicants must be residents of Springfield, MA. There are no exceptions to this rule. All projects must take place in Springfield, MA.
Changes to Project: You may request a change to the project’s venue or scope of services by submitting a written request to the council.
Deadline for submission of reimbursements – Dec. 15th.
All documents (reimbursements, W9 forms, receipts) must be scanned pdf format and emailed.
