Sharon Cultural Council
The Sharon Cultural Council (SCC) awards grants on an annual basis. As a Local Community Council (LCC) to the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), we administer and award grants to artists and arts organizations based on a yearly allocation of funds from the MCC. We fund projects in music, theater, performance, publication, visual arts, arts education, and other programming that contribute to the cultural life of Sharon. The SCC supports cultural opportunity and diversity in the arts, humanities, and sciences.

FY24 Local Priorities
The Sharon Cultural Council welcomes applicants seeking funding for projects that complete between August 1, 2023 – December 31, 2024.
We fund projects in music, theater, performance, publication, visual arts, arts education, and other programming that contribute to the cultural life of Sharon. The project must take place in Sharon or a nearby community (unless local restrictions force it to be virtual), be advertised and open to the public, and be handicap accessible.
A venue and scheduled date must be confirmed before submitting an application.
Applications are open to the following: individuals, private non-profit organizations, unincorporated associations that can establish a non-profit objective, schools, libraries or other public agencies, religious organizations (with some restrictions), and for-profit entities proposing projects that provide public benefit.
We encourage applicants of all ethnicities, religions, genders, and ages. We are committed to funding projects that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Funds are distributed as direct grants as soon as grantees receive their acceptance letters in January and return the required forms.
