Sharon Cultural Council
Our all-volunteer, municipally appointed council receives an annual allocation from the state to fund artistic, humanitarian and cultural projects by individuals, organizations and schools that serve a broad range of interests and needs. Our mission is to financially support events and activities that not only impact the residents of all ages but also reflect the diversity of Sharon. Our task is challenging since we receive many more proposals than we are able to fund.

The Sharon Cultural Council welcomes all applications that meet the state and local criteria.
Our funding priorities focus upon locally based organizations, groups and artists who have the greatest impact on Sharon and its residents. The council is committed to funding a diverse cross section of activities that also celebrate Sharon’s unique cultural, ethnic and racial communities.
Applicants can be considered in one or more of the following: (1) arts, humanities, or interpretative science organizations; (2) individuals including artists, historians, science educators, musicians, writers, parents, grandparents, and other community members; (3) community organizations such as schools, libraries, senior centers, and civic organizations.
Funds are distributed as direct grants as soon as grantees receive their acceptance letters in January and return the required forms.
