Sharon Cultural Council
The Sharon Cultural Council (SCC) awards grants on an annual basis. As a Local Community Council (LCC) to the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), we administer and award grants to artists and arts organizations based on a yearly allocation of funds from the MCC. We fund projects in music, theater, performance, publication, visual arts, arts education, and other programming that contribute to the cultural life of Sharon. The SCC supports cultural opportunity and diversity in the arts, humanities, and sciences.

FY26 Local Priorities
To be considered for funding, projects must:
– Take place between August 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026.
– Be located in Sharon or a nearby community, with virtual events accessible to Sharon residents.
– Have a confirmed venue and scheduled date at the time of application. If the venue or date is not confirmed, applicants must provide a detailed explanation of their inquiry efforts. Please reach out to us for a list of suggested venues.

Grant recipients will receive acceptance emails by January. After receiving acceptance, recipients are required to return a completed Direct Grant Agreement Form and a W-9 to facilitate the processing and disbursement of funds. After sending us the forms, it typically takes 4-6 weeks for the forms to be processed and for the check to be mailed to recipients. After the project is completed, recipients are required to submit to us a Final Report to confirm compliance and appropriate use of funds.
The SCC has funded various projects, such as Heights Elementary’s mosaic mural, the Pride Festival, Porch Fest, Sharon High School’s Euphony Magazine, Spring Concerts by the Sharon Chamber Orchestra, Moose Hill’s Conservation and Wildlife program, performances at the Council on Aging, and Holiday & Pops Concerts by the Sharon Community Chorus. These projects exemplify the diverse cultural programming that SCC supports, enhancing the cultural life of Sharon.

The Sharon Cultural Council (SCC) is pleased to announce our FY26 funding priorities. As a Local Cultural Council affiliated with the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), the SCC is dedicated to enriching Sharon’s cultural landscape by providing grants to individuals and organizations for a wide range of projects, programs, and events. These grants are funded through allocations from the MCC and the Town of Sharon.
The SCC supports a broad spectrum of cultural projects, including music, theater, performance, publication, visual arts, and arts education. Our mission is to foster cultural opportunities and diversity within the community. We welcome applications from individuals, unincorporated associations, private non-profits, schools, public agencies, religious organizations, and for-profit entities proposing projects that provide public benefit in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences.
