Harvard Cultural Council
The Harvard Cultural Council’s purpose is to promote and support the vitality of the cultural resources within the Harvard community. A wide variety of activities considered for annual grant funding include community gatherings such as concerts, plays and festivals; arts, science and environmental education in the schools and at the public library; projects focusing on local history and diversity, restoration and preservation.
The Harvard Cultural Council gathers input from the community on a regular basis and develops funding priorities based on this feedback. Based on feedback from the periodic surveys, the HCC local priorities are as follows:
• We encourage submissions in the areas of artistic performances of any kind, local historic programs, and other projects clearly within the guidelines of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
• We focus on events and activities that take place in Harvard and serve Harvard residents. We strongly encourage applicants to partner with a local Harvard sponsor before applying.
• Also note that applications for general operating expenses, fund scholarships or (non-municipal) capital expenses will not be considered.
• All applications must be made online; no paper applications will be considered, according to the state policy.
