Local Cultural Councils across Massachusetts
The Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program provides funds for community cultural activities in every city and town in Massachusetts. Mass Cultural Council funds 329 LCCs across the Commonwealth.
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, bringing the arts to all Americans, and providing leadership in arts education. Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation’s largest annual funder of the arts and supports Mass Cultural Council with an annual appropriation.
Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership
Established in 2003, MAP is the only statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Massachusetts dedicated to expanding afterschool and extended learning opportunities for school-age children, youth, families and communities.
MASSCreative empowers creative organizations and the public with a powerful voice that brings the attention and resources necessary to build vibrant, creative communities.
MassDevelopment is the state’s finance and development authority. MassDevelopment works with businesses and local officials to provide the financial tools and real estate expertise needed to stimulate economic growth across the state of Massachusetts.
MassINC is an independent think tank using nonpartisan research, civil journalism, and public forums to stimulate debate and shape public policy. MassINC’s mission is to promote a public agenda for the middle class and to help all citizens achieve the American dream.
Mass Humanities, a private nonprofit organization affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), conducts programs and offers grants and services in support of community-based projects that use history, literature, philosophy, and the other humanities disciplines to strengthen and improve civic life in Massachusetts. Project formats include public conferences, lecture series, and panel discussions; library reading and discussion programs; museum exhibitions; oral history projects; film series and theatrical productions; radio, television and film productions; publications; and projects that use the Internet to increase access to the humanities.
The Boston Foundation
Founded in 1915, the Boston Foundation was one of the first community foundations and today is one of the largest. In addition to providing grants, the Boston Foundation sponsors special initiatives, convenes groups of people to explore important issues, and works to find new ways to build community.
Creative Youth Development National Partnership
The National Guild for Community Arts Education, Mass Cultural Council, and Americans for the Arts together have formed the Creative Youth Development National Partnership. These four organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize their joint commitment to advancing creative youth development as a field of practice nationwide.
VSA arts of Massachusetts
VSA arts of Massachusetts serves individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities for participation in the arts and integration into the cultural and educational mainstream of our communities. Through collaborative and proactive advocacy, VSA arts of Massachusetts helps people with and without disabilities make systemic change influencing the quality and accessibility of cultural and educational resources throughout the state and across the nation.
